Key Accountabilities
Inspire applications developers, systems integrators and other prospective customers to adopt and to continue to use the company's products.
Prepare technical inputs to tender responses and proposals such as architecture and configuration recommendations, description of product
capabilities and reference site information.
Participate 'hands on' in project implementation and development of Composite Applications
Educate customers and prospects through a mixture of formal technical training and mentoring to enable them to make the most effective use of company's technology.
Manage the long-term technical account relationship with customers and identify new opportunities for company systems technology. Deliver 'customer delight' by exceeding customer expectations
Duties
The System Engineer role is very wide-ranging and challenging, requiring a mixture of design skills, hands-on coding, presentation skills, sales awareness, technical architecture, business acumen, evangelism, mentoring and training. The following list is indicative:
Present the company history, values, marketing messages and technology in the best possible light to prospects and users.
Investigate and demonstrate the use of the company's products with other 3rd party technologies where appropriate.
Support Value Added Resellers and System Integrators to assist them in selling their products and services.
Install the software and assist with benchmarking exercises to determine optimal deployment configurations.
Recommend technical architecture, database schema, design patterns, migration and upgrade strategies and operational best practices.
Manage the technical relationship with customer accounts, ensuring that they are aware of the latest product capabilities
Requisitos
General qualifications
The appointed person is likely to meet most of the following profile:
University Degree qualified in: technology, physics or computer science.
Flexible, self-motivated, happy to work as part of a team, has a sense of humour and a 'can do' attitude.
5 to 10 years recent programming experience with demonstrable current hands-on expertise in object-oriented languages such as C#, C++ or Java. At least 3 of them in Health Care.
Proven ongoing personal involvement in the design, development and deployment of complex applications.
Broad knowledge of the issues and trends in the IT industry generally with specific vertical market and technical knowledge in an area such as HealthCare, Public Sector Government.
Knowledge of competing application frameworks including .NET and JavaEE and practical experience of at least one major application server.
Extensive use of 2 or more industrial strength relational databases such as Caché, Oracle, SQLServer, Sybase, Informix or DB2/UDB, including designing logical and physical database schema, good SQL and JDBC/ODBC expertise, installation and configuration skills, and performance tuning.
Experience in most of the following: HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, XPath, XSD, SAX, JSP/Servlets, ASP, SOAP, Web Services, Windows, Unix/Linux.
Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) experience including use of EAI tools from InterSystems, BEA Software, IBM, SeeBeyond, Microsoft or similar.
Should have the gravitas and expertise to be taken seriously as a trusted advisor by senior architects and delivery managers.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentations skills.
Proven business analysis and problem solving skills
Project management skills are desirable with knowledge of one or more formal methodologies.
